Treasurer

Jane has lived in the Bend area for 73 of her 78 years. A resident of Stannard for 27 years - on Tousant Hill Road above The Bend - and 46 years on The Bend Road in Greensboro Bend. As a teenager she worked for several families on Caspian Lake and in her last couple of years of high school worked at Willey’s Store. Jane graduated from Greensboro High School in 1965 and attended Central Connecticut State College. After marriage and the birth of her son, Jane worked at Hardwick Hospital for 4 years as the billing and medical secretary. In 1972, Jane and a friend decided that Hardwick needed a flower shop and The Flower Basket was born! Eventually, Jane bought the business outright and immensely enjoyed working with flowers and wonderful customers for 39 years. Jane sold The Flower Basket in 2011 and has since held several part time jobs, working as an auditor for the Town of Greensboro and for the Greensboro Garage, a bookkeeper for her brother’s business and knitting for a friend’s business in northern New York. Jane has served as the Treasurer for the Bend Revitalization Initiative for 4 years.
