    Nancy grew up in Greensboro Bend and after graduating from UVM she spent several years in New York City where she worked in publishing and advertising. Returning to Vermont, she taught Latin and English in high school; and in Thailand with the Peace Corps she taught in a teachers’ college for two years. Later, with her husband she owned a local plant nursery for many years and together they wrote and published 15 horticultural books. She currently is active in the Greensboro Land Trust and Greensboro Historical Society, having been a founding member of both organizations. She has been a trustee of the Vermont Historical Society, a member of the District Environmental Commission, and a member of many other boards and committees in Greensboro.
