Seeking part-time Project Manager

The Greensboro Community Trust (GCT) is a new nonprofit with a bold mission: to create strong social infrastructure and enhance opportunity through the acquisition, transformation, and sustained management of spaces and places within the greater Greensboro community. We're looking for an experienced project manager to help bring that vision to life — on the ground, across multiple exciting projects.

About the Work
We are currently pursuing two signature projects:

  • Historic Church & Parsonage Renovation — Transforming a historic church into a multi-functional community space, with renovation of the adjoining parsonage for viable housing and accommodations. This includes assessing water and wastewater infrastructure for both the project and the wider implications for the Greensboro Bend village.

  • Rail Trail Trailhead Development — Further developing infrastructure and amenities surrounding the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail trailhead to enhance community access and use.

  • Additional projects are on the horizon, making this an opportunity to grow alongside the organization.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing community facility construction projects from design through completion, and is comfortable navigating and coordinating the full ecosystem of stakeholders, regulatory processes, and technical requirements, including:

  • Wastewater and water infrastructure coordination

  • Environmental review processes

  • State and local permitting

  • Historic preservation requirements and standards

  • Contractor selection and management

  • Grant funding administration and compliance

This role will work closely with the GCT Executive Board to develop and manage a project schedule, and coordinate with third-party consultants and funding sources, to support all aspects of project administration. The ability to manage multiple timelines and workstreams simultaneously is essential, as well as experience with google suite.

Scope of Work:
Project management services are expected to include:

  • Maintain accurate records of all elements of the projects

  • Support GCT Board meetings and community meetings with presentation and reporting materials

  • Work with the Executive Board to develop and manage project schedules, coordinating with third parties as required

  • Support GCT with procurement and scheduling of technical assistance providers, as needed

  • Support GCT to secure additional grant funding, drafting applications as needed

  • Complete all grant reporting requirements in partnership with GCT

  • Coordinate tasks associated with the environmental and other administrative review process(es) for projects

  • Support the filing of required permits and attend required public hearings on behalf of the project

  • Administer GCT contracts for technical assistance and construction related tasks

  • Coordinate with funding partners, historic preservation specialists, other stakeholders and collaborating partners.

Our Partners:
GCT works in collaboration with the Preservation Trust of Vermont and the Vermont Council on Rural Development, and is a proud member of the Village Trust Initiative — which is committed to revitalizing rural Vermont communities. In addition we work closely with the Town of Greensboro, the Greensboro Association, and other community development organizations such as the Greensboro Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Location: Greensboro, Vermont
There will be some in-person meetings and events, but most of the work can be managed remotely.

The Opportunity
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible as a part-time contractor, with a real pathway to a larger, potentially full-time role for the right candidate as our project portfolio grows. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the direction of a community-centered organization doing meaningful, lasting work.
If this sounds like you — or someone you know — please reach out or share this post. We'd love to connect.
