GCT Receives USDA Grant and Seeks Matching Donations
GCT was just awarded a USDA Community Facilities Technical Assistance Grant through our regional development association, NVDA. These funds will support GCT in hiring consultants to help with feasibility studies, due diligence analysis, and concept designs for our priority project work. This grant award requires a 20% local match, which GCT is looking to raise this summer.
LVRT Trailhead and Bend Park Upgrades
This summer, GCT is continuing to enhance the Greensboro Bend trailhead with a new portable restroom enclosure, more established pollinator gardens, and by exploring greater connectivity with Main Street and beyond.
The Steeple Looks at Water and Wastewater Infrastructure
GCT’s Steeple project aims to renovate and repurpose the former Methodist church and parsonage property in Greensboro Bend village for a variety of community uses. GCT currently holds an Option to Purchase Agreement for the property while we work through feasibility and environmental review due diligence steps.
Greensboro Community Trust Board hold first Annual Meeting
In May 2026, GCT held our Board’s first Annual Meeting and strategic planning conversation aimed at identifying priorities for the near future. The group participated in a visioning exercise imagining Greensboro in 2033 and discussed key needs and wants.
