The Steeple Looks at Water and Wastewater Infrastructure

GCT’s Steeple project aims to renovate and repurpose the former Methodist church and parsonage property in Greensboro Bend village for a variety of community uses. GCT currently holds an Option to Purchase Agreement for the property while we work through feasibility and environmental review due diligence steps.
Most of GCT’s efforts this spring have gone into understanding the water and wastewater capacity and infrastructure needs for both buildings. This has led to wider investigations into both the Bend village water supply and possible wastewater options:
Connect with both of Greensboro’s ground water suppliers (Greensboro Fire Districts #1 and #2), our regional planning commission Northeastern Vermont Development Association (NVDA), and ground water supply experts
Hire environmental consulting firm, Stone Environmental, to do initial site analysis and feasibility for wastewater systems on the parcel and surrounding areas
Evaluate wastewater options, including a new system serving only the Steeple property and the possibility of a multi-unit system that might serve neighboring properties
Understand the conservation land use restrictions of the site, including wetlands, river corridor, and any archaeological requirements
Conduct structural assessments of the vacant parsonage and church buildings
